NEW NAME, NEW LOOK, SAME GREAT EXPERIENCE

As many of you know, plans have been underway for awhile to expand our family of businesses. As we began talking about our new bakery, we noticed that our logo could use some freshening up. That discussion led to us discussing a name change. Although we have had fun and success as Grand River Grocery, we felt it said little about our identity. Committment to our community is part of our vision and our mission, and the most memorable icon of Ada is the covered bridge, one of nine that exist in Michigan. Thus, Ninth Bridge.

Jeff and Georgia Gietzen continue to own Ninth Bridge, which they founded as Grand River Grocery in 2004 ,and sum up their committment by declaring that:

 "Ninth Bridge has an overall vision of being the premier destination for those seeking a committed and intentional epicurean experience in West Michigan, we felt that now is the appropriate time to make the name change and debut these new products.”

The most familiar of our businesses, Ninth Bridge Market will continue to evolve as the premier destination for specialty food and beverage, with an unparallelled prepared food selection. gourmet meats and cheeses, an eclectic selection of wine, beer and spirits, and a highly educated staff to help you with all your entertaining needs.

As always you will find a wide variety of Michigan-made products, as well as our favorite selections from the region, the country and the globe.

HIGHLY ANTICIPATED

We know, we know, no one is more anxious then us for the bakery to open. Haley and Derek will continue to bring you scones, muffins, cupcakes and more in the market until the doors finally open.

Ninth Bridge Bakery will be a European-style bakery with fresh artisan breads and gourmet pastries daily for you to take to work or relax and enjoy in the shop itself.

We are so excited for you to taste Barb's crusty Sourdough, or sit on the patio and enjoy one of Derek's croissants with a MadCap espresso.

COMING SOON

On May 16, Ninth Bridge Coffee will open in the Market in the place of the former Starbucks. We are proud to be partnering with MadCap coffee on this next leg of our business journey. They have a terrific product and it meshes very well with our philosophy of buying local first, whenever possible.

Ninth Bridge Coffee will be staffed by Ninth Bridge employees who have been trained by Baristas at MadCap coffee, so you will be able to enjoy the same great coffee experience in Ada, as in downtown Grand Rapids
