MARCH CREW PICKS ARE POSTED
Check out our Grand River Grocery updated website with our March Crew Picks posted. www.grandrivergrocery.com click on Products/Crew Picks
. Shown here is my Crew Pick this month, Twin Hens frozen Chicken Pot Pie's. Twin Hens owners, Linda Twining and Kathy Herring first met at their children's pre-school ten years ago. Both had professional cooking educations and were involved in their local organic markets. They began teaching cooking classes and ran a frozen dinner delivery business using local produce and products whenever possible. As their signature artisan Chicken Pot Pie became more and more popular, they decided to take it to a retail level. Twin Hens Pot Pies are now available in hundreds of stores across the country, including Whole Foods Markets , Dean and Deluca, and Rice's Epicurean to name some of the “big guys”. Seriously good stuff and good for you. Here’s the ingredient list: Bell & Evans Chicken (that’s good quality chicken!), organic vegetables (carrots, celery,
onion, peas), King Arthur unbromated flour, whole milk, AAA butter, salt, pepper, thyme and an all butter crust. Come on . . . could you make these and have them taste so good for $8.69??

GREEK TO GO! TASTING
This Friday, March 6 - noon to 4 PM
Greek to Go was inspired by these three Greek friends, Katerina, Esther and Maria that have a passion for Greek cooking. The gals say Greek food requires few ingredients and some imagination! The three met at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and soon found themselves cooking together for the annual November Greek luncheon. The dishes they serve are most commonly associated with Greek cuisine - spanakopita (Greek spinach pie), baklava (fillo layered nut dessert), tiropita (Greek cheese pie) and pastitsio (Greek lasagna). You can find their line of frozen entree’s in our freezer - ready to take home and pop in the oven. Their baklava is sold from our bakery case.

HILHOF DAIRY AT GRAND RIVER GROCERY
Hilhof Dairy Farm - organic milk!!! In a glass bottle!! I can hardly believe that while I was taking a couple days off, my team tracked down and brought in this local, organic, glass bottled milk. And I’m thrilled! Seriously … the taste is so fresh and rich (and that’s the skim milk) that it really makes me wonder what I drink when I drink other milk. I remember reading several years ago in one of my health magazines that if consumers made no move towards organic OTHER THAN dairy, they’d be healthier for it. I’ve been buying organic milk and other dairy products ever since. Hilhof Dairy is located in Hersey, Michigan where they produce the certified organic pasteurized, nonhomogenized milk which comes in old-fashioned looking glass bottles. It tastes the way milk should taste - try it and you’ll understand exactly what I’m saying.
