YOU'RE INVITED TO JOIN US!

JDRF is an organization close to our hearts at Grand River Grocery.  Most of us know someone that is living with Juvenile Diabetes. At Grand River Grocery we have two moms affected by this disease.  Our "Chief Wine Chick" Sarah Andro knows diabetes all too well, she lived with it growing up with two parents that were diabetic, losing her beloved father a year ago to the disease.  Her sweet young daughter Sophie adjusts to life by constantly monitoring her blood sugar levels as she too is diabetic.

But we are not without hope, most researchers agree that a cure for Juvenile Diabetes is just around the corner.  And that's why anything we can do to help raise funds for their foundation is important.  This October for the 4th time, Wine Chick Sarah will ride 100 grueling miles through Death Valley Desert to raise money for this important cause in her life.  We're throwing a fundraiser to kick off our summer grill season on Friday, May 21 with Cascade Rental and Magic Hat Brewery on board as our primary sponsors of our beer tent and barbeque extravaganza.  The music of Tiki O'Riley will set the mood in the evening as we raise money for JDRF.

THERE WILL BE 2 BIKE RIDE OPTIONS AT 5:30 PM

RIDE A - FAMILY FUN RIDE: Ride Leader Ted Bentley (Wine Chick Sarah A's hubby and avid biker)

Ted will lead you and your family on a leisurely ride beginning in Ada and winding through the village, covered bridge to Ada Park. This ride will be family friendly.

RIDE B - INTERMEDIATE TO MORE ADVANCED: Ride Leader Craig Gietzen (our Beer Geek and avid biker who promises NOT to drop anyone on this ride!)

Craig will lead a more experienced group of bikers from Ada down Grand River Dr., ride will probably be about 12-18 miles. And the grills will be on when you return!

All riders meet in the Grand River Grocery parking lot at 5:30 SHARP! You'll be divided into your two groups. Helmuts are required for all riders (parents that means you too!), and we're asking for a $2.00 donation to JDRF for each rider. We'll keep the grills fired up for your return and the beer tent will be open!

Bring the family and enjoy good beer and good food supporting a really good cause.
 

GET YOUR GRILL ON!

It's going to be a great summer!  Join us each Wednesday from 11-2 (lunch) and / or 4-7 (dinner) for spectacular fresh local grillfare!  And each Wednesday we'll also be getting fresh baked good from our friends in Ann Arbor, Zingerman's!  Summer grilling starts Wednesday, June 2 and runs through Wednesday, September 8.

SUMMER EVENTS

Tuesdays Grand River Grocery will be at the Ada Farmer's Market with our newly refurbished hotdog cart!  And we'll be offering the first ever, authentic "Michigan Hotdog"!!

Wednesdays we'll be grilling and offering Zingerman's baked goods.

We're looking forward to our Michigan Winemaker Dinner on Thursday September 16 featuring the wines of 2 Lads and our LIVE! and Local event which will be held Friday, September 17.
