Buche de Noel or "Yule Log" is a traditional dessert served during the Christmas holidays in France, Belgium, Quebec and other Christian-populated countries. As the name indicates, the cake is generally prepared, presented, and garnished to look like a log ready for the fire. Our Buche de Noel is prepared in Chicago by Chef Molly Sell of Tart Cuisine ( www.tartcuisine.com
). Chef Molly has designed large scale and individually plated desserts for everyone from the Dalai Lama to the Pope, to Gene Simmons of Kiss!
Our Buche de Noel is assembled using the finest ingredients - velvety chocolate cake rolled with French buttercream, covered in chocolate ganache, fondant leaves, tempered chocolate shavings, meringue mushrooms and garnished with fresh rosemary sprigs and cranberries. It is truly a work of art and we can assure you - it is absolutely delicious. We are accepting special orders through Tuesday, December 15 at 4:00 PM. The "Yule Log" will be available for you to pick up at Grand River Grocery, Saturday late afternoon, December 19 (good weather) or Sunday December 20 (if weather is bad) in time for the Christmas holiday.
