PERFECT PICNIC FARE!

This past Saturday evening Jeff and I took a few very good friends out for an evening sail.  I had planned a picnic dinner on the boat upon our return based on what Wes had prepared for last Thursday's "Michigan Inspired" grilling menu at the market.  On the menu last week:

 

Leelanau Country Inn Greek Dressing marinated Chicken Skewers

Greek Antipasto Salad marinated in Leelanau Country Inn Greek Dressing (yes, we LOVE this dressing)

Grilled Asparagus

I added a bed of Mudlake Farms arugula salad tossed with feta cheese and pine nuts and VOILA . . . the photo above.

 

Dessert?  Grand River Grocery Macaroons and assorted Grocer's Daughter Truffles - (on a sailboat you need "small" desserts - no room for Heidi's cupcakes!!)

 

Oh, and I poured Circa Estates (Leelanau Pennisula) Chardonnay which EVERYONE loved!!  A "Michigan Inspired" (with a little help from Greece) perfect picnic dinner after a lovely sail on Lake Michigan in the company of good friends.  And no fuss on my part (except the plating presentation) - I simply picked up at Grand River Grocery Saturday morning and it was all "Good to Go"!!!
