 I am a fan of Alma Rosa wines. For those of you that are not familiar, Alma Rosa is owned by Richard and Thekla Sanford, former owners of Sanford Winery (also located in the Santa Rita Hills). Sanford, in my opinion, used to make beautfiul Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays which you can now find at Alma Rosa.  We were offered the entire allocation for Michigan (20 cases)of this 91 point wine!  And at a great value.  You won't find this wine anywhere else and because it's low production, when it's gone - it's gone!

QUICK WINTER DINNER

We all love comfort food and one of my favorite comfort foods this time of year is pasta - hearty red sauce and good pasta!  We've got both.  Connie's Crew Pick this month is a new pasta and pizza sauce from the Detroit area from the Buscemi family.  It's a winner.  So, here's my quick and easy pasta dinner:

1 jar of Buscemi Pizza and Pasta Sauce

1 package of Antica Pasteria fresh pasta or tortellini (it's a WOW line of fresh pasta located in our cooler)

Parmigiano Reggiano

Chopped Parsley

Toasted Pine Nuts

Quick and easy to assemble:  Warm the pasta sauce, boil the fresh pasta of your choice and top with Buscemi sauce.  Grate the cheese over the pasta, sprinkle with chopped parsley and toasted pine nuts.  I'll even drizzle a little bit of Acadamia Barilla Toscana Olive Oil over the top.  YUM!

Wine Pairing:  Lunadoro Vino Nobile Di Montepulciano.
