SARAH'S CREW PICK - THE WINES OF 2 LADS

I am so excited about FINALLY being able to sell 2 Lads. Customers have been asking me since they opened in 2007 to start carrying their wines. Unfortunately for us,( fortunately for them) they sell out almost every wine and every vintage, every year. They have finally decided to give in to the demands of the persistent (that’s a nice word) retail outlets throughout the State and are going to allow us to sell their juice.

I cannot stress enough that these wines are limited! If you want them, don’t wait.

Pinot Grigio 2009 / $18.49: Bright pears, green apples, star fruit and a grapefruit/citrus frame are the aromaticas. The wine leans more towards a classic NoMich style with the lighter and brighter flavor profile as opposed to our typically lush and tropical style. Viva 2009!

Rose of Cabernet Franc 2009 /$18.49: Raspberry, cranberry and juicy rhubarb are found in the glass. The wine shows us that dry rose on a cool year is a balance between bright acidity and soft fruit that enrich the wine’s body and add length.

Cabernet Franc 2008 / $24.99: Aromas of dark clove, spicy raspberry and a nice hint of oak (vanilla and coconut). The wine tastes of red plums, strawberry and cranberry, food friendly acidity and soft tannins all wrapped up with a floral note. This wine shows Franc’s more elegant side.

Want to learn more about 2 Lads? We will be hosting a dinner with them on Thursday September 16th with our friends at Bistro Bella Vita. Reservations are available now, although pricing and menu are yet to be determined. Seating is very limited and nearly sold out.

BIG CHEESE . . . SALE

How big?  How about 30-50% off / pound of several pre-packed and cut cheeses from Beemster in Holland and Roth Kasa in Wisconsin.  That's pretty big savings.  Cheese doesn't go on sale very often so we encourage you to take advantage of these GREAT deals we're passing on to you.  Only the month of July and only while our it lasts!

FEATURED PURVEYOR - CRANE'S PIE PANTRY

The Crane's settled in the area that is now Fennville in the early 20th century and by the 1960's were in full swing of the fruit business - making cider and gift baskets.  This business evolved into the restaurant and pie pantry that is there today.  All of Crane's pies and crisps are handmade from fruit from their own orchards or if they need extra, from their neighbors.  We carry Blueberry (Georgia's Crew Pick this month), Raspberry, Apple, Peach and Red Raspberry in our freezer.  And Cherry Chrisps for two!  Each pie bakes from frozen in less than an hour, making it the perfect stress-free homemade dessert to enjoy this summer!

Fruit Pies:  $15.49 / Crisp for 2:  $5.49
